Exams. :D

Hellooo Followers! :D

I'm so sorry I've been such a negligent blogger! So much has happened! I'm currently just out of Byron Bay… :) Would share more, but I'm being nagged to get off the computer! So I'll post this quick! :O

<-------------- Exhibit A
<-------------- Exhibit B

I've been pretty busy, with NCEA exams coming along, so I thought I'd do a post on exam prep… with exams coming up soon I'm currently doing everything in my power to survive…Here's how you can too… My top 5 tips!

1. Grow a beard. It seriously makes you feel smarter. When you don't know an answer, you can stroke it. Look at Exhibit B.

2. Get glasses. Now I'm unfortunate enough to already have glasses, but every time I put them on in the morning I immediately feel smarter. Awesome, right? I've taken to wearing them now 24/7, even while sleeping. :p Look at Exhibit A.

3. Classical music is the key! I know it might not be your cup of tea but studies show that Mozart makes you smarter. Guess what i'm listening to know… ;)

4. Mix it up a bit! As Sue Sylvestor (Glee) says "If you're homeless give not being homeless a try", well I say, "If you study inside give studying outside a try!" A recent study discovered that people who mix up the locations they study in, remember more! *Gasps*

5. The lucky exam dance, it always works! Trust me, I tell no lies! Okay. Listen carefully. I'm only going to say it once…*leans in and whispers*, "before each exam

jump up and down three times and turn around in a circle while holding your hands up in the air." <------------------- DO IT! It works! :D

...Hope that helps.... xD

I have to go now! Goodbye! Till next time!

Love from Tapiwa.

An afternoon stroll in Australia's first inland city

On learning that Goulburn is just bursting with historical sites I begged my parents to let me have a look around, so we took The Self-Guided Walking Tour of Goulburn. These are just some of the photographs I took on the tour.

The Old Town Hall. This gorgeous building was designed by E.C. Manfred and was built in 1887 for 3, 425 pounds. It stopped being used as the Town Hall in 1990 and is now called the McDermott Centre after a former mayor of Goulburn.

The Technical College was built in 1901 by Walls and Sons and costed 6, 789 pounds. At the time it was built it was though of as the most advanced and stylish building in all of Goulburn. It is now used as the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium.

The Fire Station was built in 1890 and is of a Victorian style.

St Saviors Cathedral is the cathedral for the Goulburn & Canberra diocese and was built soon after people settled in Goulburn.

The Courthouse, this courthouse is the fourth courthouse to be built in Goulburn. It was built in 1870 and is still in use today.

The Big Merino

It's not often that one comes across a giant ram but yesterday as I was driving back from Canberra I was confronted by none other than The Big Merino. This New South Wales icon is located in Goulburn, the first inland city in Australia, and is a whopping 15.2 meters tall.

Brunch at Batemans Bay

So my mum, dad and I decided to drive down from Sydney to visit my cousins in Canberra*. My dad led my mum and I to believe that the trip would only take three hours, however he decided to take the scenic route and it took us over five hours to get there! :/ Leaving early in the morning we didn't have time for breakfast and the like so after around four hours of driving we decided to stop in Batemans Bay for a bite to eat. The bay is famous for it's fresh seafood so without further ado we decided to savour the "local cuisine". I ordered a Seafood Basket from a beach front Fish & Chip shop, this involved two fish cocktails, a crabs claw, two calamari, one prawn and chips. To this day** I still have nightmares about biting into that crabs claw, the batter covered up th disgusting inside which consisted of something that looked like small white worms *vomit*. However after that daunting experience I was fortunate to enjoy the beauty of the bay.

*Yes. I know. Canberra is such a hole. But family comes first. ;)
**This was four days ago. :/

Meeting the cast of Dance Academy

Today I was fortunate enough to meet the cast of the Aussie TV show Dance Academy*. The show follows six teens who go to The National Academy of Dance to learn Ballet. I met four of the main characters: Xenia Goodwin (Tara), Dena Kaplan (Abigail), Tim Pocock (Ethan) and Jordan Rodrigues (Christian). The actor who seemed least similar to their television persona was Dena Kaplan who plays the mean, narcissistic and head strong Abigail Armstrong. When I asked to take a picture with Dena she was like, "Of course! Thanks so much for coming!". Whereas other cast members seemed quite bored with the whole taking pictures with fans thing. Even though I had to queue for about an hour it was definitely worth it, I met some great people while waiting in line and I got some awesome photographs with the cast and all of their autographs. :)

*You can watch Dance Academy on ABC1 at 5.20pm and on ABC3 at 3.40pm.

One short day in the Emerald City! :)

So my mum & I decided to delay leaving Sydney so that we could see WICKED, this was my second time viewing Wicked and it was definitely worth it! The musical score is brilliant, the actors are extremely talented and the script is romantic, witty and modern comedy. The story follows the friendship of The Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda The Good Witch and is based on the book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire and rumor has it that a movie is on the way... So I urge you to go see this fantabulous* musical!

*Fantabulous is my word for all things AMAZING - fantastic + fabulous.

I was in Wellington today!

Today I happened to take a wrong turn while driving through easting Sydney and ended up in Wellington!...Street. Quite a creepy coincidence! ;]

Doily Tree.

We all want a money tree but what about a doily tree?

I saw this tree in Rozelle and just had to take a picture! ;]

Meet Jack.

This is Jack, Jack Holden.* >>>>>>>>>>>>

We got our car Jack yesterday! So this car is going to be my home for the next few months :D The back of the car has a double bed built in :)

*I feel the urge to name cars. Don't question it.

I ♥ Bondi

Last Saturday I visited Bondi, the beach is absolutely gorgeous! You can take this lovely walk through the rocks around the beach to a lookout (the first picture), to the left of the lookout you can see the beautiful golden sands of the beach (the second picture and the last picture) and on the right you can see a graveyard which is a bit spooky but a nice contrast & surprise (third picture). After the look out, you can take a casual stroll on the beach or get a bite to eat at one of the many cafe's and fast food joints that are spotted around the beach. And if you're really game you can take a dip! I didn't this time as I didn't take my wet suit :/ Ohwell... There's always next time as I will definitely visit this beach again! :)

The Manly Ferry

Last Friday, the 25th of June, my mum and I caught the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly. The ferry trip was absolutely beautiful and it was a great way to see Sydney City. All these photo's were taken from the Ferry (Minus the Sydney Harbour Bridge Photo in which if you look hard enough you can see the ferry itself). The thirty minute ride was definitely worth it and I took some great photos! Another plus was the free Wi-fi! :)

Sydney at Dusk

The photo on the left is the Queen Victoria Building. I just HAD to take a picture of this building because the architecture is simply magnificent! Especially the stain glass window. Inside the building there are heaps of stores, from Country Road to Bon Bon Fine Chocolates! There is even a High Tea Room! If you are ever in Sydney definitely check out this building! http://www.qvb.com.au/
The second photograph is of sydney at dusk, the sky is a beautiful backdrop to the ever-so-tall buildings.

Ohhh The First Post. Exciting!

Yes. I know. The center picture is not centered. Blogger isn't centering it & I've given up on it temporarily. I though actually posting something was more important! Anyway this is my blog Road Trip Revelations! It will follow my trip around Australia and then possibly into Asia. It will include tips, hints and daily reflections on life on the road. I haven't actually started the trip yet, my mum and I are currently staying at my dad's house in Sydney. I shall keep you all posted. :D
